A Louis XV Rococo Style Marble Top Burl Walnut Bombe Commode, Egypt, c. Mid 20th Century. This Commode would look exceptional while displayed in an array of interior styles. This Commode is crafted of solid walnut, and is finished in an burled veneer. You’ll enjoy the veneers drastic grain throughout as well as a painted portrait of a women along the front of the drawers – It’s heavily detailed. Continuous painted landscape motifs are shown along each side of the chest. The piece shows sensational lines with drastic curves. The green marble top follows the curves and bevel of the chest, it contrasts perfectly. The piece is heavily decorated with brass ormolu mounts and pulls. The three stacked drawers offers a large amount of storage space, each drawer opens and closes as it should. The backside of the piece is unsigned or marked.
