A French Rococo Louis XV Vitrine Bookcase, Egypt, c.1960. This piece is a vintage reproduction, expertly crafted in Egypt. Almost ALL Louis XV pieces seen on the antique market are vintage Egyptian reproductions – They’re exceptionally well made. This piece is made of solid wood, finished in a walnut veneer. The top of the piece shows stunning bird’s eye maple which contrasts nicely. Throughout, you’ll enjoy an array of brass ormolu accents and trim work – It’s very ornate. The inside of the piece features a full mirrored glass back, mirrored bottom and a large glass shelf. A interior light has been added at some point, it’s tested and working. Condition:
This piece shows areas of veneer damage. Areas of veneer lifting, chips and bubbling is shown. There is a crack shown in the back mirrored glass. While this glass could be replaced, it can be hidden once you fill the piece. The piece is exceptionally heavy and solid. The price of this piece reflects its wear.
