Library Bureau Sole Makers was one of the higher end manufactures of Oak Library and Filing Cabinets. The quartersawn oak grain is at its finest of quality, and is drastic throughout. This is a very sought after style by Library Bureau, it’s very hard to come across their single stacks – They’ve very practical in an estates library or office. The piece stands on 4 oak legs, which are bottomed with 4 Shepherd brass casters, which glide exceptionally smooth (they can be removed). The filing area opens and closes as it should, and is embellished with their signature flattened brass drawer pull, which has aged nicely. The bottom purge hole is missing its top screw, and we do not have the key to lock this piece. This piece comes apart in 3 separate pieces, which includes the top surface, middle storage area, and base/legs. This piece was professionally refinished at some point in the pieces life, although it was not done recently. You will find minimal expected wear, like surface scratches and chips, although nothing major.
