A classy, yet eye catching piece – A stunning accent to a living room, study, or great room. This sofa is circa 1880 to 1890, this particular settee would have been the largest of its kind, seating 3 people comfortably. It’s crafted of solid mahogany, with a drastic burl veneer throughout. The finish shines nicely, and is rich in age, you will find wear and repairs throughout, although the piece is very solid and sturdy. The green upholstery is old, but not original to the piece. The upholstery was most likely redone between the 30’s and 50’s. You wont find any rips or tears, and to our surprise – it’s in very nice shape with slight discoloration from age. The inside cushioning and springs are all intact, and its rather comfortable to sit in. Throughout, you’ll find hand carved motif’s and details we all love in American Empire pieces.
