During the Early 20th Century, many manufactures were crafting quarter sawn oak – arts & crafts, and mission style pieces. Library Bureau Sole Makers cornered the market, crafting some of the highest quality library cabinets, to present! For starters, the iconic brass “Library Bureau Sole Makers” plaque is displayed on the front, above the top drawer. The piece is completely made of oak, with a drastic grain throughout. The piece features 3 library drawers, which are embellished with tagged brass pulls and file tag holders. All hardware is original to this piece, and are rich in age with a patina finish. Each drawer opens and closes as it should, and leads you to a nice amount of storage space within, with adjustable “front-to-back” stops. The entire width of each drawer is 10.5 inches. The sides of the cabinet show raised panels, and the top has a nice amount of surface space. You will find minor chips, stains on the top and scratches throughout, which is to be expected for its age – Although the finish shines up great, and does not appear to have been refinished at any point.
