What a great conversation piece for those who enjoy ornate furniture and items. This French Empire Bouillotte Lamp is made of solid brass, and you could imagine how heavy it is! Every area of this piece is ornate in its own way, featuring traditional French Empire motif’s and a pair of ladies (possibly mermaids) on each side of the lamp. This lamp takes 1 standard size bulb, and 7 arms includes an area for candles. Since lighting candles under a shade isn’t exactly ideal, we’ve added faux candles in there for show; These can be removed if desired. The shade is not original to the piece, although we felt it suits the lamp well. The shade rod can be raised and lowered for different size shades. The lamp is in nice condition and shines up great. It isn’t heavily cleaned or polished and is rich in age with patina. There are repairs and blems about the lamp which come with age, although nothing major.
