Envision this piece in an estates library, accompanied by tall stools – A very unique display! This Post Office Sorting (or Plantation) Desk was crafted during the late 19th Century. It’s monumental in size and truly one of a kind. This is a two piece unit, the top cubbie area lifts off the base for transport. You’ll enjoy an enormous amount of different sized cubbies and letter holders, as well as six drawers. Throughout the years, the piece was refinished, especially the slanted writing top. As this piece was originally made to be used in a working environment, whenever the top became worn, it was quickly lathered with varnish or polyurethane. The finish is thick, yet smooth to the touch. You’ll notice some uneven areas as well as drips. This piece was exceptionally crafted to last, its very sturdy for its size.
